Yes. There are a limited number of homes in Whistler. They are popular and should be booked well in advance. Keep in mind there are many condo units that can accommodate large groups and offer better locations, amenities, common areas, pools/hot tubs and some even boast ski-in/ski-out access; often at a lower price than these houses.
